Biography

Luci Briginshaw was the Winner of the 2021 Fulham Opera Robert Presley Memorial Verdi Prize, also winning the Audience Prize. In 2019 she was awarded Audience Prize and Second Prize at the inaugural Opera: By Voice Alone competition.

Recently, Luci has sung La Contessa di Folleville in Rossini's Il Viaggio a Reims for English Touring Opera and the title role in Mozart's Constanze at West Green Opera, as well as a recital at the Royal Opera House with pianist Erika Gundesen and a UK/Germany tour with Wild Arts as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. 

2026 sees a return to the role of Gilda in Rigoletto – more details to come.

Previous roles include: The Queen of Shemakha The Golden Cockerel, Fennimore Der Silbersee and title role in Patience (ETO), Aithra Die Ågyptische Helena and Adele Die Fledermaus (Fulham Opera), The Queen of the Night (cover) in The Magic Flute (Glyndebourne),  Juliette and cover Marietta Die Tote Stadt (Longborough Festival), Queen of the Night The Magic Flute (OperaUpClose),  Donna Anna Don Giovanni (HGO), Gilda Rigoletto (Opera Loki), Leila The Pearl Fishers (Opera South East) and Violetta La Traviata (Opera Loki).

Luci has covered Cleopatra Giulio Cesare, Konstanze The Abduction from the Seraglio, Mimì La Bohème and Matilde in Rossini's Elisabetta all for ETO, and appeared as Iris in the world premiere of Keith Burstein's The Prometheus Revolution for Grimeborn Festival. In support of her roles with ETO Luci was asked to sing live on BBC Radio 3 in October 2019.

In 2021 Luci released her debut recording, Peter Warlock Songbook, with pianist Eleanor Meynell, on the Convivium label.​

​

Luci studied Music (with Italian) at King's College London, performing as both pianist and singer, and went on to gain the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction in Singing Performance.
